Well, since I come from an acoustical (Drums & Piano) background, my music is more jazz and orchestra oriented, and I'm trying to reach these sounds. If you've ever heard Frank Zappa's Synclavier and orchestral experimentation, you're sure to know what I'm looking for.

... I'll take an example: a friend and I bought a sampled piano CD of excellent quality, one of the best rated on the market, the "Bosendorfer Imperial Grand 290". I worked on programming and modifying this library for around 40 hours and I still have work to do to make it sound as I want....

Should I wake up from my dreams and realise it's impossible to use the STS (or any other sampler for that matter) in order to imitate with high semblence acoustic instruments (Solo Trumpet, Solo Violin, Flute, Vibrophone,etc) ?

Let me start by stating that both SX and 5.0 are originals.
The problem was also in 5.0, but less of a problem. But I trully believe it has something to do with Pulsar, or my computer managment. Disabling onboard sound and USB didn't really help.

Could someone help me out here? I sometimed use STS300 to practice my piano skills (at night, everybody's sleeping...),using prosonus Grand Piano samples. (256M). The sound sometimes gets stuck, stutters or otherwise isn't fluent. Of course the same happens in more elaborate setups but this setup ma...

"define and refine on the computer" ?? Why not just play it live and record it to wav to keep the feeling? When I want that natural feeling, I never put it through the sequencer. Much quicker that way anyway. Well, because I'm still far from being a piano pro, and velocities are quite hard...
