Re: Different generation/version of I/O plates?

I have never been able to detect any difference in functionality or performance between v1.0 and v2.0 Classic IO plates.

Re: Different generation/version of I/O plates?

The IO boards have their own version.
The short Classic IO plate is v1.0.

Re: Masterverb Test Thread

I just looked in the shared Google Sheets list of Asktoby and see the row of the Gigabyte X58 UD4 mobo. I remember doing these MasterVerb tests on the same mobo around 2011 and was able to load at least 8 x MasterVerb Pro with 2 x Pulsar II + 1 x Scope (2nd gen). All 3 PCI slots and cards worked per...

Re: Is it worth to use scope boards with 96khz and kill 50%

Thank you for the new examples :) The 96Khz examples appear to have a very slightly more tight EG attack. To my ears, for the rest there's not a remarkable difference between the 44.1Khz and 96Khz example. Note: in the recording, the 96Khz examples give at least one glitch each.. https://www.cantabi...

Re: Is it worth to use scope boards with 96khz and kill 50%

Even on my laptop speakers I can hear clearly the difference.
The 96Khz example sounds clean compared to the 44khz example.
It sounds like the 44khz example has more chorus.

Re: Is it worth to use scope boards with 96khz and kill 50%

To me, the Scope system at 16bit 44.1Khz sounds better than many other systems at higher sample rates. Besides, there's whole generation consumers raised in the mp3 and streaming age, do they even know what high fidelity audio is? 95%+ won't hear the difference, nor even care. Higher sample rates wo...

Re: Clicks and pops with Cubase 8.5

Well, I'm glad you managed to fix the problem. I've spent 2 weeks tweaking Windows to 'fix' my clicks-n-pops problem. In the end, it was not the Windows configuration and also not the shared USB IRQ's (which I cannot avoid in a HP XW4600 workstation), but it was the AMD ATI Radeon video card which c...

Re: HP XW6200 Firewire

If Windows doesn't see the device, then I would check that the PCIe slots in your motherboard aren't disabled in the BIOS HP XW workstations have an ACPI compliant BIOS. Windows 7 is an ACPI enabled OS, so Windows 7 is in charge of hardware. Disabling or enabling devices in the BIOS setup doesn't h...

Re: Presonus studio one DAW and Sonic core works good?

The combination of Studio One v3 and Scope 5.1 runs excellent. Although, the computer's Operating System is mainly responsible for DAW's MIDI latency and jitter, Studio One v3 seems to have very tight MIDI timings on Win 7 32bit (using Scope's Sequencer MIDI Source module). Studio One v2 on the othe...

A good Oberheim Xpander emulation would be awesome. Here's a nice paper about the Oberheim Xpander design: http://www.experimentalistsanonymous.com/diy/Schematics/Full%20Synths%20Drum%20Synths%20and%20Misc%20Synth/Oberheim%20XPander.pdf And also other useful resources: http://www.experimentalistsano...
