Re: OSCiLLOT

Roland truly i admire you because you are an artist who is able to discover beauty in the boundaries between noise and noise... :P "Don't tempt me to open my mouth about this" Please be my guest... "That Buchla 200 is working non stop for 40 years now" Of course no one is able to...

Re: OSCiLLOT

I haven't seen any contributions by you in the modular talk... :P As i remember you were a snob with modular 4 and quickly went to pacarana. :P Of course using several similar equipment is educating because you spot the similarities and the differences between them. That knowledge can easily help yo...

Re: OSCiLLOT

Don't want to get me wrong. I didn't replied specifically t you and i' m sorry if you have bad memories from previous discussions. Look i' m a developer i 'm happy that people are interested about new devices. But at the same time i just advice people to stay away from the hype around new dev...

The "gather more of the same devices you don't know how to use" scheme is not working.

Re: OSCiLLOT

You guys remind me some of my friends. Their setup include thousands of vsts and gear. You scroll down infinite menus of nonsense names and "user catchy" names (including Maserati, Ferrari, phantom the audio punisher, and similar nonsense ) just to activate a silly filter. When you finally...

Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

Don't bother forget it. For me there is nothing particularly interesting about these keyboards. I have created a piano sampler for my daw application. Everything works in 96kHz 32 bit. 96 notes polyphony without voice assignment for about 10% of my laptop i5 processor. I can route different instance...

OSCiLLOT features up to six voices of polyphony.

Also
"And if you already own a modular system or other CV/gate-enabled instruments, OSCiLLOT can interact with your hardware – provided you have a DC coupled audio interface."

Any modular can do that...

Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

Hi, The 10-bit samples on the kurzweil or 12-bit playback system of it, just reduces the dynamic range. The signal to quantization noise ratio. You can notice the difference only when trying to sample sounds with great dynamic range like a sound that has loud and quiet passages. For simple samples t...

Re: DAS Griesverb favor

"part of the "new normal" in society" You don't have to be afraid of any new normal. Taking snapshots of a device is not replicating the device. The real device has still an infinite amount of applications. A convolution snapshot is a nice way to use the footprint of a device. Th...

My mother has a sewing machine unrepeatable.
The engineer who built it chanted three spells and made two sacrifices for each component used

Where is the sample?

Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

I would prefer just one sample. A riff or something that has the qualities you mention. One that you like and makes you say, i could use that in a tune and i can only make it with that specific hardware due to it's limited sample/bit rate. Information about the sample/bit rate of the hardware would ...

Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

I know you are the best in wave-table synthesis and i admire you for that. It's best to use what makes one comfortable. I haven't said a single word against lower sample or bit rates. I said one simple thing. (i won't say it again). I made a small graph about up-sampling. upsampling.jpg Also you may...

Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

Look i don't use romplers at all. Of course for hardware with limited memory sampling at higher rates is wasteful. You can achieve good results with lower rates. But to fully capture the spectrum a human hears for the whole range of common instruments a bandwidth of 44100 is required. That is basic....

Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

come on guys what i'm talking is the common sense. You can't re-invent lost information. Going from a higher sample/bit rate to a lower is possible because you just delete info. Oversampling is used so to allow modules inside the signal chain to work with higher sample rate. You pad zeros to get a h...

Re: scope waldorf oscillator now in hardware modular module

The impossible guys is to go from a lower sample/bit rate to a higher one. The opposite is simple.

I can't listen to that right now but come on guys, if you 'd like post a sample of what you are referring to... What means a decimator "can't match old digital hardware". In that sentence there are 5 contradictions. I'm using "old" "digital" "hardware", and po...
