Re: considering purchase, need some pre-sales support

sure, it's what you like. if you want to get more involved with audio and music production, Scope is great. so is hardware...Scope is among other things, a device that connects the real world, the virtual world of the cpu and the virtual world of the dsps themselves, at least for me. when i monitor ...

Re: considering purchase, need some pre-sales support

no. you can go thunderbolt to pcie or even easier and cheaper, expresscard, however. https://www.sonnettech.com/product/echoexpresscard34thunderbolt.html cpu is winning the marketplace, because mass sales with native systems is much easier and more profitable, not better. Scope products are not just...

Re: considering purchase, need some pre-sales support

the operating system has nothing to do with the dsps. they do not run on Windows, Linux or OSX. the computer merely has the gui for the dsps, and the driver to interact with software apps on the host computer. this software to load the dsps and provide a gui is what is difficult and expensive to mak...

Re: Scope as admin ?

v7 already ALWAYS runs as admin. there is no need to do anything special. that is why v7 brings up the message box about "do you want to let this app make changes to your system" when it starts. you do not need to set it to run as admin in the shortcut.

Re: Scope as admin ?

Scope 7 always runs "as administrator".
v5 needs to be run that way.

the reason is that beginning in Vista/win7, Windows blocks apps from accessing system resources like ram, unless running "as admin". some Scope plugins require this access.

then the app is likely trying to setup the Scope card. that won't work. Scope is not controlled via Windows.

i was just responding to fraz's question and bud's comment.
hyperthreading is bad for Scope, but not in every config. hyperthreading doesn't necessarily help vstis. it's really only a help to offline processes.

Re: It's chrismas ! Dual CPU ?

no. it takes extra time to run extra threads. the computer will be late and there will be dropouts using hyperthreading, depending on how you use the system. old news.

it will never be "soon", because that's just how the universe works.
