Re: Scope as admin ?

v7 already ALWAYS runs as admin. there is no need to do anything special. that is why v7 brings up the message box about "do you want to let this app make changes to your system" when it starts. you do not need to set it to run as admin in the shortcut.

Re: Scope as admin ?

Scope 7 always runs "as administrator".
v5 needs to be run that way.

the reason is that beginning in Vista/win7, Windows blocks apps from accessing system resources like ram, unless running "as admin". some Scope plugins require this access.

Re: Sonarworks Reference 4 and IK Arc

then the app is likely trying to setup the Scope card. that won't work. Scope is not controlled via Windows.

i was just responding to fraz's question and bud's comment.
hyperthreading is bad for Scope, but not in every config. hyperthreading doesn't necessarily help vstis. it's really only a help to offline processes.

Re: It's chrismas ! Dual CPU ?

no. it takes extra time to run extra threads. the computer will be late and there will be dropouts using hyperthreading, depending on how you use the system. old news.

it will never be "soon", because that's just how the universe works.

Re: It's chrismas ! Dual CPU ?

you cannot use virtual cores with Scope hardware. virtual cores take the real cores to calculate them. it's 24 cores with 24 threads without hyperthreading.

Re: It's chrismas ! Dual CPU ?

that's the price to use the system in ways the engineers did not anticipate. audio software is not made to take advantage of such builds. i have found the same, it's better to build a simpler machine for a specific purpose or to use multiple computers, but i suppose making it all work is sometimes a...
