Re: Pci to pci e adapter

actually, the z series chipsets work great. PCI is obsolete, which is why the XITE is PCIe. here is one PCI slot. if this exists there are 2 and 3 slot motherboards, but they will likely be commercial boards. https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z370-HD3P-rev-10#sp here is 2 slots: https://www.asus....

Re: Pci to pci e adapter

i am doubtful about the performance. those things always suck.
i'm sure it depends on the usage.

a working motherboard is always easier and cheaper.

Re: Cracks and Pops - which line filter ?

there is nothing special about performance mode. it merely disables much of the power saving functions that can be turned off by "changing plan settings".

Re: Best mobo and cpu combo

use either ASIO2 or ASIO2 float. bit depth will be determined by the ASIO host. generally, use the highest bit-depth available. there's no real gains to be made by using a lower bit-depth. bit-depth is more important than samplerate. yes, a 15dsp card might be first generation, the Luna is second ge...

Re: Best mobo and cpu combo

a first generation card will ALWAYS reduce the available PCI bandwidth.
making one card the master will make no difference, except for latency.

Re: Back on Scope

about the 32 vs. 64bit thing....

the GUI runs in 32bit. 64bit makes no difference to the dsps.
the driver and many other processes that run in conjunction with the computer's systems run in 64bit, in 64bit Windows.

atom, if everything works fine, then you are fine.

Re: Best mobo and cpu combo

Turbo won't do anything for online audio. just disable it completely. there is no magic that will go beyond the cpu's physical limitations.

...or leave turbo on. if it makes no trouble, everything is good.

Re: Engineering logs of scope ?

no, there is nothing that can tell you what is failing, if anything. crackles can come from almost anywhere. they indicate lost data. if the hardware is good and the computer is properly setup, there should be no issues, period. is something like a plugin overdriving? are the ADAT ports clean? have ...
