Re: Possible faulty A16U

Great news, hope it all works well... Thanks for getting one for me, much appreciated, I've PM'd you my details. I've donated a small amount to the 'Z, and will make a donation to Alzheimers. Valis - I couldn't find a link for donating easily?! Ended up doing a Google search (which then threw up a &...

Re: Possible faulty A16U

If you do get one, please double check the connectivity of the pins, the data sheet isn't as clear as it could be... should be ok, but worth checking with a multimeter / continuity tester

Re: Possible faulty A16U

I checked RS components, Farnell, Digikey and LCSC, no joy.....,but looking on Reichelt looks promising. This is the only jack I've found with the same footprint: https://www.reichelt.com/de/en/panel-mounted-coupler-in-accordance-with-din-45323-pcb-angled-lum-neb-1r-p116267.html?&trstct=pol_3&am...

Re: How to optimize windows 10 for Scope to avoid clicks and pops!?

also an NVidia specific one I wasn't aware of:

https://www.gearslutz.com/board/showpos ... tcount=160

If Process Lasso doesn't help maybe https://www.coderbag.com/product/quickcpu

but I think process lasso does all that and more in a more user friendly way...

Re: How to optimize windows 10 for Scope to avoid clicks and pops!?

Hi Petal, I have found Process Lasso from bitsum helped me https://bitsum.com Definitely worth a try. You can assign CPU cores, power schedules, and scheduling priority etc on a per program basis. I assign music progs/Ableton/Cubase and Scope to cores that aren't being used by a lot by Windows 10 se...

Re: Current 2nd Hand prices 14/15 DSP 6 DSP and NOAH EX?

Hey Jimmy, I know what you mean about the enthusiasm dipping then springing back. I'm still amazed that the platform is so little known and used, but (hopefully) still going strong. I just wish that through economies of scale the price of entry would drop. That said I do think that some musicians vi...

Yes, that's what I'm after. I'm very tempted to brush up my C++ and do some dev work.

Current 2nd Hand prices 14/15 DSP 6 DSP and NOAH EX?

I haven't been making music for a while, and kind of missed the boat on the intro prices for an XITE-1, but would like to buy one soon. Any idea what I might expect to achieve as a second hand price for: 14/15 DSP booster 14/15 DSP card 6 DSP card Noah EX Is there still demand / a market for the car...

Re: Want Faster XP? Pagefile in top 3-4GB of RAM on a 8GB system

Sorry for the delay in replying. I've found it to be very stable. One minor niggle. XP says that there's not enough room to expand the registry, not sure if this is due to the ram drive or not. This doesn't seem to have caused any problems. My 'puter now runs as fast as Windoze 3.11 on a DX2 66 :lol...

Re: Want Faster XP? Pagefile in top 3-4GB of RAM on a 8GB system

the STS5000 should fly with samples stored on the ramdrive, but I would be cautious for live use. Certainly only ever copies on the ramdrive. The Cenatek software doesn't specifically mention the pagefile, or that it's memory is taken from above the 3.2GB cut off that XP 32bit can see. They do make ...

Re: Want Faster XP? Pagefile in top 3-4GB of RAM on a 8GB system

Hi Jimmy et al, Just to clarify, as Stardust mentioned yes I use some of my 8GB of RAM. No SSD drives, nice as they are (I want one, but will wait a bit until the price drops). I had previously looked into getting a PCI device that took DDR Ram, but when I realised that the majority hook up via SATA...

Want Faster XP? Pagefile in top 3-4GB of RAM on a 8GB system

One way to speed up XP is to put the pagefile and temp files on a RAM drive. There may be other programs that will do this, but the one below works (for my hardware): http://www.superspeed.com/desktop/ramdisk.php It will allow you to create a Ramdrive (I could allocate about 2.9GB) in memory that is...

As previously mentioned, treat the room if possible. Then try some very very clever software: http://drc-fir.sourceforge.net/doc/drc.html Not as complex as it sounds, but it did take a while to figure out how to do it. I use FOOBAR 2000 + generated filter to playback FLAC ripped CD's. You will get a...

If you have the cash, the Quested range are very good. S7 + sub is fantastic. Non fatiguing, and accurate at low volume. You should be able to get by without the sub using the S8, but the sub is very good if you can afford it. Worth an audition. I like the Genelec range, very accurate, but I found t...
