Re: How to tell which SCOPE (PCI or XITE) is currently runni
Verbatim from the "manual": "MIDI program changes may be used to select patch numbers either sent from a MIDI keyboard, voice number or sequencer etc. This facility may be enabled or disabled by the third channel key on the bottom row. When it is enabled the PC LED is illuminated (cha...

Re: How to tell which SCOPE (PCI or XITE) is currently runni
Absolutely, one can store configurations and recall them from the front panel only. I never use it that way, but it was certainly something the designers had in mind. But they also had in mind remote control by a computer. In fact they had an engineer write a control program that did exactly that (m...

Re: How to tell which SCOPE (PCI or XITE) is currently runni
Well, you do need a PC (or some CPU device) to operate/program the patchbay. It's controlled by MIDI, true, but it not a simple matter of sending some CC/value to the device. Rather it's packets of info (not unlike TC-IP networking) which are COMPRESSED/DECOMPRESSED by a proprietary algorithm, excep...

Re: How to tell which SCOPE (PCI or XITE) is currently runni
I love the Signex audio patchbay. But when I bought mine years ago there was a serious caveat - no software! The company provided me with a technical specification, from which I was able to write my own drivers to control the unit (via MIDI). I am always happy to share this work with anyone who want...

Re: How to tell which SCOPE (PCI or XITE) is currently runni
Yeah, Cubase does a great job generally dealing with ASIO drivers. I needed to know which scope was running in a third party application I wrote myself, it's a complex control program which routes audio signal not only in my studio but throughout the entire house. Sort of the way SCOPE routes signal...

Scope v5.1 x64 installed, but it always runs in x32 mode
Sorry if this is a duplicate. I searched around a bit for a similar previous question and didn't find one, but it's difficult to believe this hasn't come up before. Anyway, while developing a third party application, an exception was thrown that caused me to notice something I've never paid attentio...

Re: How to tell which SCOPE (PCI or XITE) is currently runni
I haven't actually tried your example (yet), but according to spy++ in Visual Studio, the windows names are exactly the same. I'll give it a shot anyway. Thanks!

How to tell which SCOPE (PCI or XITE) is currently running?
Please forgive me if this question has been asked and answered. I have SCOPE v5.1 installed on my system for both my old Creamware boards (PCI) and XITE-1. They run exclusively, that is, never both at once. I have a program I'm developing which need to determine (programmatically) which SCOPE versio...

Re: revisit "PCI Capacity Limit Reached" error...
Thanks to all for the great ideas. Please allow me to clarify. I never said it wasn't a HARDWARE problem. I believe it IS a HARDWARE problem. But it's a hardware problem which is being trapped/detected by the software, and thus the possibility of simply ignoring it, or taking corrective measures, mi...

Re: revisit "PCI Capacity Limit Reached" error...
The event is trapped. Software does that. Some events that are trapped can be investigated further (error codes, etc.) to determine how best to handle the event, or ignore it under certain conditions. I was a Senior Software Engineer specializing in real-time embedded systems for 15 years, working a...

Re: revisit "PCI Capacity Limit Reached" error...
Hi djmicron, thanks for your input. Both the speakers and the XITE-1 are running through a UPS, although there is no reason for the speakers to be wired that way. Everything (computer et. al.) is currently running off the same house circuit. Nothing I have tried changes the scenario. True, I can swi...

revisit "PCI Capacity Limit Reached" error...
On my older desktop system, using internal Creameware cards, I used to get this error message from time to time. Never frequently enough or consistently enough to be a serious problem. And I also assumed it really was an error associated with the PCI bus. Now I'm not so sure. I have a new system now...

Re: Express Card woes...
Never tried it 'cause the Echo unit is Mac only and I'm a PC guy. Vaguely remember reading somewhere about two different models of the Echo unit, one that supports PCIe and one that doesn't. You might want to do a bit of research before purchasing. Not positive about this, it's just bouncing around ...

Wow, thanks everyone! My problem turned out to be (thankfully) my own stupidity. Phantom Power! I didn't have the front panel phantom power button "on". garyb - thanks for the tips. In the Windows Sound panel, I selected the only XITE-1 speaker choice that had a level meter showing, and by...

Re: Express Card woes...
An update, and a problem, in that order... The update - after waiting months to purchase the laptop I really wanted (ADK 9000x), I gave up and purchased my second choice. Apparently ADK can't get units from the manufacturer and they had NO idea when they would be able to get them, so I bought a Leno...

Re: scope 5.1 (64) win7 (64) and vlc
And ya just never know what you might discover if you snoop around a bit! For those who may be interested, the VLC/SCOPE v5.1 64 incompatibility problem seems to be squarely in the VLC camp. VLC v2.0.4 and SCOPE v5.1 64 work fine together as long as the sample rate of the file VLC is trying to strea...

Re: scope 5.1 (64) win7 (64) and vlc
I must have struck a nerve ;-) Well, I was only answering babaorum's post of last March because I recently discovered the incompatibility with VLC. I searched the WWW for any possibility that someone else might have found a solution and I stumbled upon his post. 1.) I'm not upset that VLC and Scope ...
