I stopped by the booth for a couple of demos of this at NAMM. Herbie Hancock came by and jammed on the "burning piano" patch for a while. It's pretty sick.

How about a used Kurzweil K2000? 61 key, fairly light (but not super light), indestructible, and still sounds great.

In case anybody is interested, here's what I ended up doing: First, I bought the Saffire Pro 26 I/O. On paper it looks good: 8 green series preamps, 16 channels of ADAT (or 8 or 4 via SMUX up to 192khz). It even looks nice, and the macbook fits right on top nicely. But then I plugged it in and start...

Broken ADAT port?

Hi, The ADAT in port on my Scope card doesn't seem to work, and I'm hoping someone has some tips on troubleshooting. I have a 15 DSP and a 6 DSP card in my pc, both z-link. When I connect the Scope card to my Presonus FireStudio via ADAT, I get no signal into the Scope card, and the ADAT "LED&q...

Hi, I'm a huge Ableton Live supporter. I've been with them since version 3, when they didn't even have MIDI support. Personally, I find it to be the most creativity-inducing environment I've ever worked in. I haven't touched Cubase or Sonar in 2 years. I haven't noticed any major timing issues, and ...

Using an A16 ultra with a Firewire interface on Macbook Pro?

Hi, I'm looking for a good way to use my A16 with my MacBook/Ableton setup. There are a couple of cool Firewire interfaces (like the Focusrite Saffire Pro 26i/o http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SaffirePro26/ ) that have 16 channels of ADAT i/o (or 8 using S-MUX). This one in particular seems l...

Where can I find the A16 Ultra manual?

Hi,

I can't seem to find the PDF manual for the A16 Ultra anywhere. Does it even exist? If somone could point me to it or email it to me, that would be great!

Thanks,
Brent

I just thought of something. Instead of using zlink, can I use ADAT to connect my A16 ultra to my cards? The A16 has 2 sets of ADAT ports (16 channels) and I have 2 Creamware cards each with 8 channels of ADAT I/O. Would that work, or am I missing something. I've never used ADAT before. What's the m...

It looks like there are FireWire 400 repeaters like this one: http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=1329 and FireWire extenders like this: http://www.avsupplystore.com/om-rep.html Has anyone used either type of product to extend their zlink cables? Any success or horror stories? I really want...

ha, I never put the names together :) Huskervu plus Mackie emulation doubled the utility of my BCR. If I weren't 6000 miles away, I'd buy you a beer. Maybe I can ship you some chile. BTW, if you want to share the source code for help with any updates or enhacement, feel free to pass it along. Brent

No, but the ring of LEDs give a visual indication (as long as the DAW, or whatever you are controlling, sends MIDI back to it). Great peice of gear for the price. I finally took the plunge and configured mine to use Mackie emulation and Huskervu. When I don't need the flexibility of SFP, I run in XT...

Seems a little pricy to me. I caught analog fever about a year ago, and ended up with a Pro-One and a Prophet 600. The Pro-One sounds killer, for about 5 minutes then it drifts out of tune. It does make some great tortured cow sounds if you press down on the flimsy plastic front panel. The Prophet 6...

XTC with SpaceF Echo34 or Echo35?

Hi,

I just started playing with this XTC madness, and wondered if anyone has been able to get SpaceF Echo34 or 35 working in XTC. MicroEcho works fine. Echo34 and 35 load up and their GUI reacts to incoming signal, but I don't effected output, just the dry signal.

Thanks,
Brent

Hey Mehdi, nice template! I printed out your template today, and found it very useful. I opened up the original Behringer template PDF file in Adobe Illustrator, and I'm creating an overlay based on your design. I'll post it here when I'm done. Henrik, I'll do the same with your Minimax layout. Your...
