Re: Noah & Windows 64 bit
I managed to run the installshield by (1) copying the install files into a temporary folder on my virtual XP's C: drive and (2) running it in Win2K compatibility mode. It seems to run OK but I don't trust it. It crashes during synchronization and leaves the Noah in a weird state. Re-running synchron...

Re: Noah & Windows 64 bit
The drivers are for the Noah Midi, Synthesiser, Wave components. (Whenever you unplug the Noah and plug it into a different USB slot, you have to re-install each of these.) These are what you can't install in Windows 7 64-bit version, but they install under windows xp mode. It's the install for the ...

Re: Noah & Windows 64 bit
I have an XP mode session set up and the creamware drivers are working properly in it. But when I try to install the noah software I get "Cannot start creamware installer - error code 0001". Any ideas?

Harry Reeser - Heebie Jeebies
also "Draw Of the Cards" by Kim Carnes. I really like the way the ostinato-type bassline fits in the groove instead of forcing everything to follow it.

Re: Is this possible?
"Sorry for the basic question, but does that mean that I could run my laptop setup into Scope, so lessen the CPU strain of VSTs I am running on my desktop?" SPDIF means it has two channels of digital audio (a stereo track). No more no less. "Run your laptop into scope" - you can ...

Re: Setting up Vocodiser
Glad you got it all working. Yes, you can save the presets, I find it unnecessarily complicated, but as long as you're methodical about it.. 1) every time you change a multi-type patch, call up the multi preset box, find the patch and right-click to select it, click on "store patch' to overwrit...

Re: Setting up Vocodiser
Hmmm. I've never had much trouble getting the Noah working with a PC. When you plug it into a USB port, does the computer recognize it (if you have speakers hooked up you'll hear a little bleep as the computer detects a new USB device.) If the Noah is detected by the PC, loading a new program from t...

Re: Setting up Vocodiser
OK, I will give you a quick explanation, you will have to experiment to get the right sound. This is more geared towards using vocals through a vocoder. For stage backup vocals I find a vocoder works better than a harmonizer, though is less flexible, because it tends to provide a very chorusy type e...

i would try checking all my cables
That was all the problem was! I just tightened all the HD connections, made sure every card was seated properly, and now it boots.

Suddenly computer won't boot except in safe mode - fixed
The only error I can see in the system event logs was : The description for Event ID ( 65535 ) in Source ( STacSV ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOUR...

Dumb question
If I don't hook up the pulsar II multi-wire cable, does it hurt the computer or card? And if the thing is unplugged while the system is live, will it hurt the card?

Re: What do you as pro expect from your mic preamps?
I used Behringer Preamp & AD converters for years and figured they sounded 'great'. Then I tried using the one on a TC helicon quintet (rackmount harmonizer - of course i had the harmony effects bypassed, just using it as a converter). Suddenly I realized how much mud and distortion the Behringe...

numbers?
No, numerbs, they're about the equivalent, just made from better quality parts.
And a kickme with that kind of keyboard control sounds awesome.

This is one of those opinion threads, eh? These are the (non-stock) plugins I couldn't do without. Sonic Timeworks P100 reverb (which comes bundled with a high quality ChorusDelay!) - for the best non-hardware reverb I have heard. It sounds much better than any other DSP reverb, scope's Masterverb P...

Just for clarity's sake, I think that Red_Muze means "condemn" not "condone". Amirite?
