Re: Scope NSA Offer 2: All Zarg synths (Solaris, Quantum Wav

how unique are these compared to other synths on the platform and modular? They stand out. I'd say that Pro One, Pro Wave, and Solaris are up there with Minimax, Pro-12, and Prodyssey as being must-haves for any Scope user. I really love Pro Wave. is there a staple "johnbowen" sound to th...

Hi Ben and Jimmy, Sorry for taking so long to write back. I tested all of John's newer synths pretty extensively and really fell in love with Quantum Wave and Pro-Wave. Unfortunately, my single 7-DSP Project card can't provide enough voices for me to make proper use of the JD800 sound bank so I won'...

Hi Ben,

It's good to see you're still working on music and synths! How's everything been going?

I saw you've released these patches for several of John's synths. Is there any one of them you'd recommend in particular, especially in regard to using your patches?

No, it's not possible to simply use an "adapter plug" (whatever you may mean by that - you can't simply plug in the octopus from the "plus" plate into the "classic" plate) and simply switch the i/o in software. Indeed the scope software automatically detects which plat...

It may be possible to simply use an adapter plug and switch the digital I/O type in software. This is how Lynx soundcards and Kurzweil products function.

Oh, I didn't see before that the jacks are on top. This seems like it could only hurt sales, not help.

Mehdi, for the uninitiated, what are MixSat and MixSat C2? What makes them different from any other Scope mixer? I'm assuming they're designed to be saturated, hence the Sat in MixSat, is that correct? I couldn't find any information about this stuff on your website, please post a link if you have o...

That looks like it could be very popular if marketed correctly. I don't think Celmo will make any more Scope devices once he sees how popular guitar pedals are these days. ;)

Re: COS and VOID / sounds, pictures, and some more details

http://www.soniccore.com/audio/cos_plus_void_preview_theme.mp3 Hi Ralf, Which synth is doing the bass sound on this sound example? It would be nice if you could give a detailed description of how this track was made and which synth is doing what job. In any case, I'm very happy to see so much Scope...

I am wondering if the stdm cables could take the blame for that ... I mean, are UAD or powercore boards linked in the same way ? UAD and Powercore users have had the same problem with this box so it is not the S/TDM's cable at fault. If anything, the S/TDM cable should help the situation since it i...

Medway did some great tests some years ago where he compared the VinCo to his 160SL. The results were incredibly close & he sold the 160SL soon after. As you can imagine, a real 160SL doesn't sound or react like an 1176LN does so it's no surprise that the VinCo doesn't sound or react like the UA...

Creamware charges a lot for those plates, unfortunately, so, as everyone else said, it's better just to add an additional card. You'll get the Synths 'n Sampler pack free when you buy a new card, not to mention a free upgrade to 4.5 along with it.

The M-Audio Lightbridge or Firewire 18/14 are the smallest ADAT interfaces I can think of. The Yamaha i88x is the cheapest & best value I can think of.

Musicians can make a good living in Las Vegas & New York but most of the US is lagging way behind Europe in this regard. The live scene in LA is a joke. A strange thing about Europe is that cover bands are huge over there; if I remember correctly, the richest band in Sweden is a cover band. That...

Tom is correct. FYI, if you do decide to remove the 3 chip card, you'll need to have your plug-ins transferred by Creamware. There is a plug-in transfer fee, though it is not so bad when you're doing them all at once (one-by-one is pretty pricey, unfortunately).
