Using Pulsar OS ver 3.01, the Big Mixer produce a more natural sound than the STM Mixers, but but it (the Big Mixer)sounds bad under SFP . I think that the OS drivers have an important influence in the sound quality of the mixers. This is evident due the same devices ("*.dev")change it's s...

Hello to Everybody The main problem that I found with the STSs is not to load Stereo Files, due they can be easy edited using the "Edit all" function that allows to change speedy the audio output of one or more keygroups. What I found really impossible up today, is to sequence multiple MID...

All a really practical tip for to solve the problem of a cheap and uncomplete design. In particular useful for to save time. I you have a bit of patience, you can build a better mixer with the Modular 2 or why don't connect one external EQ to each stereo input, you will get all the EQs that the STN1...

Under Win98 My personal experience shows that the Big Mixer is not working well with SFP installed. It doesn't matter if you use it with Pulsar 3.01 or with SFP. Using SONAR XL was necessary to diminish to -10dBfs the input gain of the mixer for to avoid saturation in normalized signals. Also it sou...

Hello to everybody: I have a simple question for those that are replacing your hardware consoles for CW's virtual consoles: How do you replace the "preamps" , not only for mics or guitars otherwise for the high level signals of the hardware synths. As my experience shows (discarding that's...

Dear Castol: First of all I want to congratulate Mjerom for the 4 operators FM symth, I like it and I use it. About if it's possible or not to develope a complete polyphonic 6 operators FM synth (or 8 operators like FMOne) with feedback and with the complex modulation matrix of a Yamaha DX7, I will ...

The real reason why there are very few Physical Modeling Sythesizers is that Standfor's electronic music laboratory CCRMA is the owner of the patent and they don't want to give anymore for a few coins the wrights for to use it , like they do in the past with the FM patent, (frecuency modulation) wit...

Dear Spirit:

That's not the matter, simply I said that the Wavelegth synth is not, strictly speaking, an FM synth although it use this type of synthesis in the wave generation.

And of course it looks really interesting, the fact is that I'm searching other type of synth.

Dear Spirit: The Wavelength device is far of to be an FM synthsizer, and they explain it clearly in the web page as an hybrid analog/FM synth. Looking at it's design it has much more of an analog synth than of an FM symth. The exact example of what an FM synth is, is perfectly represented by the Cre...

Do you think possible to build a more complete FM synth like a clone of Yamaha DX7? It seems that CW will never develope a poyphonic version FMOne for Pulsar boards, and the one that exist only works on Scope. The 4 operator device is an interesting begining , but many of the FM benefits shine when ...

The thru connector is a standard MIDI THRU like anyothers. The problem is that the Pulsar enviroment don't allow the use of the "thru" function or "daisy chain links" between MIDI devices, like it don't allows any other possible recursive connection. This means that in the case o...

Dear Brain: You must leave FREE of use arround 10~15% of the DSP , this has been discused years ago with Pulsar I OS ver.1.x. The DSP allocation is dynamic and nothing can assure you that when you reload the project, the DSP chips will distribute modules in the same places that were when you you cre...

Without disagree for complete with you, the rental concept would be applied to all patents of any kind. For example in theory you can't disassembly your car for to know how it's built. But nobody will think in this, if his car's engine stops working in the middle of a lonely road in the night. Altho...

Is impossible to do accurate comparissons between boards that have onboard memory for load the DSP modules and others like Pulsar that use the RAM of the computer for this purpose.
