Re: CMS-1

I've tried it out in Live 10, and I can make it work, it's a nice synth :) I can control the synth from the VST plugin. But, I have to load the VST-plugin in an audio channel, and then I need to send midi motes from a midi channel, so that makes the midi notes seperate from the parameter-control. Is...

Re: CMS-1

My Anti-virus scheme is preventing me from installing. Is it possible to post the devices/files as a non-exe?

Re: Definitive Scope PCI card host PC?

I bought everything second hand and reused a few things from my old system, so it was a pretty cheap upgrade.

Re: Definitive Scope PCI card host PC?

OK - I have now build a new system with an I7-4790k on an ASUS H81-PLUS motherboard.

I have 3 PCI cards in there and my XITE and they all seem to work.

I got 10 Masterwerbs Pros without any problems on the PCI-cards, and got a PCI-Limit error on the 11th.

Re: Definitive Scope PCI card host PC?

I know that Sonic Core have used the mobo: ASUS H81-PLUS for testing of the PCI cards. Do we know anything about how well it/the chipset H81 is performing compared to Z87/Z97-based boards? I'm planning an upgrade and all I need now is a motherboard to run my 3 PCI boards and my XITE in the same mach...

Re: Dave Smith Instruments & 8DIO Sequential Prophet X

Yeah - I find it interesting as well, but the price is "naughty". There are quite a few interesting demos here: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=8Dio+Sequential+Prophet+X About the future sample import feature, if this is important to you, then maybe you should wait until they have actua...

Re: 2 x Asus boards 3 X PCI slots

Is there any real experience with running SCOPE PCI-cards on these newer chipsets and if, what was the performance like?

Re: Six String on Scope XITE 7 @ 96kHz max 2 voices before DSP capacity limit

Yes, going 96Khz will double your DSP resource needs. Maybe the single most important reason to consider, if you really need that almost unnoticeable fluff of air ;)

Re: Merits of going 24bit/96khz?

Yeah - I should have done more research on what the Xite could and could not do. And it is true that John developed his synths on the PCI-cards running version 3.? software I believe. He has looked into optimizing the Solaris and the Quantum, but this cannot be done because of hardware constraints o...

Re: Merits of going 24bit/96khz?

One of the reasons I bought the Xite was to get higher voice count on the Solaris and the Quantum - I got the opposite. Another reason was to get the power to go 96Khz, but I ended up sticking my tail between my legs hoping my ears and equipment survived the experiment. Unless you are used to and li...

Re: Dave Smith Instruments & 8DIO Sequential Prophet X

The list price is 4000$ not Euros ;)

Also, John Bowens Solaris is in the same price range, $4199 to be exact, a synth that seems to attract attention from people from this forum - even yours ;)

Re: Dave Smith Instruments & 8DIO Sequential Prophet X

I don't think it is for me either, although I have been gassing for a modern Poly Evolver type synth for a while, which I do believe this to be. 4000 is a lot though and prolly more than I'm willing to pay. I don't see how the Zarg ProWave compare to this though? Only the Solaris can do stuff that i...

Re: Dave Smith Instruments & 8DIO Sequential Prophet X

I'm hoping for a new take on the poly evolver, which would also make sense since it will be a new product that doesn't compete with the existing line of DSI synths.

Re: Python Pro 1.02 on Scope 7 - Does anyone have this device working ok?

The Python Pro was sold for $199 back in 2003: https://web.archive.org/web/20041205180552/http://www.zargmusic.com:80/ourproductcatalog/ I found an old demo version I had lying around and can confirm that it seems to work on the XITE running Scope 7.0, Windows 7 64 bit. I would like to share it with...
