Re: Looking for 15 dsp card + classic I/O plate

I think mine is the 15 dsp (it's a square device that looks like the other dsp chips but partially hidden by the I/O plate) with the XLR whip. How much over $1,000 US plus shipping and transferring fees (if any) were you thinking of?

Re: Pulsar I + Scope SW 4.5 on W10 32/64bit?

it might work on 32bit, but it's unlikely that it will work correctly, just like v4 in win7. it may function well enough for you, or it may not. you can always try it, although why it would be important to try win10, i'll never know.... i'll also never know why people are in a hurry to give m$ more...

Re: Pulsar I + Scope SW 4.5 on W10 32/64bit?

Hi, I wonder if it is possible to install Scope 4.5 on 32/64bit Windows 10 (January Technical Preview)? It works on Windows 10 as of #Build 9841. this early release of Win 10 is said to be full of debug and network rubbish (they ARE watching how people use the system) privacey isn't the point - but...

Stock Devices You Like a Lot?

There are some great premium devices from Soniccore and from external developers. But what about some of the basic devices that came with your first CreamWare/Soniccore card? Are there some that you keep going back to, even preferring?

I was reffering to the guys who come to a gig with weak rigs. They are doing what they like for a living, and many here in Las Vegas who make great money, show up with rigs unworthy for battle. When they hear our soundcheck they usually cower in the shadows as the Scope / GVI DAW beats them unmerci...

In A Live Performance Battle With My Rig, They Are Literally Unarmed. What is a "Live performance battle?" The only live performance battles I've witnessed are where the guitar player and the drummer each tries to get louder than the other. Usually the only result is that the audience sta...

A few years ago we had a discussion about cleaners for contacts, and someone posted up a 'space age' solution that escapes me. I should search for that thread sometime because I'd be interested in checking it out, but whatever it was It was more for insuring contact in your studio connections than ...

I record everything at 48k. Since I usually track to an Alesis HD24, it makes sense because the HD24 is spot-on accurate at 48k but in theory has some (very minor) long-term drift at 44.1. And, years ago, when my ears were younger, I compared a bunch of sample rates using SunRize's Studio 16 on the ...

Chocolate - Hooked on Cacao

Hershey's has a new extra dark chocolate called "Cacao Reserve" and it contains 65% cacao. To me, the regular Hershey's dark chocolate has always seemed a little waxy. And unsweetened baking chocolate takes the low-sugar thing a little too far. But the 65% seems pretty close to what I cons...

It really is easy to get a stereo recording from VDAT. This works for me. First, if you haven't already, open the VDAT Settings box and click Select Wave Editor. Tell VDAT the name and location of your favorite wave editor (I use Sound Forge 6). Then, record the Left on 1 and the Right on 2 of the V...

Yes you may indeed record into VDAT and get a stereo file. First, record onto any two VDAT tracks. Then click the yellow stop button twice and you should now see it blinking on and off. Click the 'Edit' button (in the 'Settings' dialogue) next to the first of the two tracks you are using for L &...

I've recorded into VDAT, and when I tried to play back, nothing played. That's meant I've either forgotten to dis-arm the individual channel record buttons, or I'm at the end and I've forgotten to go back to zero. And if I can edit the track so that I see it in Sound Forge, that means the yellow lig...

hi Jan,

You said, " I get two red lights out of the ADAT inputs but nothing from the outputs"

Maybe it could be this simple:

The signal is passed by the red light, so the sockets showing the red light are the outputs. The dark sockets are the inputs.

thanks Nestor, Thanks for the listen and the positive words about the song. And thanks for the suggestions. In fact, there's no artificial reverberation on the vocal at all. We're deciding whether to re-mix "girlsong" now or re-track "girlsong" and mix it later. We may go on to a...
