Re: Strymon Volante Synth Demo

I'm more of a recording guy, but I thought I'd step in here on controllers. I've been very happy with the DJ Tech Tools MIDI Fighter Twister. Built very sturdy, super flexible programming, and I can really set up the colors and knobs to instantly know what to reach for and what's doing what. https:/...

Re: Have you tried Halion6?

Yes, very impressive, and does some really amazing manipulation of samples. I used to minimize my use of samplers because of the lack of expression available. Gigasampler didn't really do it for me despite the massive samples, Kontakt gets closer with the sometimes ridiculous number of layers and is...

Re: BlackBox II, why isn't it around anymore?

I got it first, tested it on some dub, and it sounds mighty. Works on an insert too, which allows some control of parameters.

I'm still working my way through all the goodies in BlackBox II, it should be a lot less overwhelming to get one piece of BlackBox III at a time.

Re: BlackBox II, why isn't it around anymore?

Sign me up. I was away from Scope for a while, so BlackBox came and went while I wasn't looking, but there are tantalizing hints of its power in various posts here. Yes the protection is annoying, but sometimes it's waiting for me to okay a location to a component and the incomplete patch does inter...

BlackBox II, why isn't it around anymore?

I recently acquired a PCI card with BlackBox II and license. It's really impressive stuff, but not available anymore? Has all of this been incorporated into newer SpaceF devices? What I've explored so far works great, but should I anticipate running into problems running this on Scope 7 at 64bit? Ma...

Going to get a little cray cray with some feedback modules, and it's all your fault. Thanks for this device.

Re: DC coupled A16U?

don't remember. did you try it? No, I have a Nuendo/RME 8ch. AD/DA which is DC coupled. But, I´m also interested in if the A16U is since I bought 2 of these recently. OTOH, I don´t want to be the G.P. an damage one of the A16Us. someone modded their AD/DA way back when.... Well, modding digital gea...

DC coupled A16U?

I'd like to control some physical modular stuff through Scope, and also back the other way. Is the A16U DC coupled? Can it be? I'm handy with an oscilloscope and soldering iron. Do I need to discuss this with Ferrofish? Failing that, anyone using some cheap and cheerful Lightpipe interface in this m...

Re: Ocean Swift STDM Cables possible production run

Faxi, sorry to hear this, but I'd prefer that you use your very skilled time with code rather than hardware. If you wouldn't mind, could you tell the rest of us the supplies/manufacturers that you have found we should avoid for supplies? Someone else here can probably pick up that ball and give it a...

Yeah, 1000 USD per each of the 50 million accounts, or 23 for each of the ~220 million US accounts at the time, or 65 cents for each and every human on the planet as well as the handful in orbit. I really don't know where I'm going with this.

Re: Matrix Mixer

Much thanks, it appears this will do some things I set up with SpaceF's Modular Mixer, but more neatly, because I'm a total slob in my project window.

Also, I really appreciate your good work, anything nice I could do for you, or maybe just donate to the forum on your behalf?

Re: 6 dsp pulsar 2 don't start :(

In my case it was a cracked connection with one of the ones between the SHARC chips. If there isn't obvious physical damage some quick work with an oscilloscope can track it down. If a repair tech is hesitant to do board level repair tell him or her "it's just a filter cap problem" and they'll know ...

Looks like you have a capacitor gone bad, or the solder pad for one. Easy fix for someone with the right skills.

Re: I gave up giving up scope and come back, keep the faith!

I think sometimes we forget that even a modest Scope system is a virtual world-class recording/mixing/mastering facility with a ton of outboard and a big room full of synths. While it's easier and more convenient in many ways it still takes time, practice, and maintenance to be fully cooperative wit...
